New Awakenings

I started learning that my perspective and the way I observe and react to things in my life, completely changed how I experienced life. I started spending a lot of time looking for more specific answers in books and online.

One of the early books I read was “The Miracle Morning”, by Hal Elrod. It takes six well-established Mindfulness techniques and combines them into a reasonable amount of time to start one’s day off with energy and positivity.

I have loosely followed The Miracle Morning formula for about two months. The acronym S.A.V.E.R.S is the key behind the technique used in the book combined with waking early in the morning. The author talks about the most common habits of successful people and then combines them into a short and simple routine each morning.

S – stands for silence. This can be prayer or meditation. Ten minutes to help center you first thing in the day

A – stands for affirmations. Ten minutes of affirmations to help with self-love. The author has a specific formula that reinforces using affirmations that are present tense and believable. Also, you can affirm things that you are grateful for.

V – stands for visualization. Ten minutes of visualization to help with confidence and planning. Helps to promote a positive outcome by seeing oneself overcoming obstacles.

E – stands for exercise. Ten minutes of exercise each day.

R – stands for reading. Ten minutes of reading, specifically books that increase one’s knowledge or skills in some way.

S – stands for scribing. Ten minutes of journaling. Specifically writing not about how your day was but to plan your day or your goals.

These are a very brief overview of The Miracle Morning and the author goes into great detail about how to use the ideas involved. Also, you can shorten or lengthen some of the steps and they can be done in any order. I usually meditate, do affirmations, and exercise in the morning. I read during the day usually via audiobooks and visualize and journal in the evenings. I often exercise more than ten minutes as well as read more than ten minutes. I don’t always visualize either if I am short on time as it is the least important for me.

The Miracle Morning is a great book that I would recommend to anyone who wants to better their self-esteem, self-confidence, or personal drive. It will make you more focused and present in your life.
