Positive affirmations are statements that are repeated aloud or in our heads to change negative thoughts into positive ones, motivate ourselves, or boost self-esteem.
I like to do affirmations in the morning while I’m making my lunch for the day. I play back affirmations that I recorded in my voice on my phone in an app. It plays the affirmation and then I repeat it in my head to affirm it. It was strange hearing my voice at first. I never much cared for hearing my voice played back but now I am used to it.
I created my affirmations on an app that records and plays them back. Many apps are out there, so browse and see what you like the most. You can also write your affirmations down and read them back each day. I like the apps that play back the affirmation because I can combine listening to it with another task. You can also get apps that will pop affirmations up on your phone all day long for quick pick-me-ups.
The best affirmations are present tense and not only affirm a positive thought but are believable. You are trying to train your subconscious mind to stop being negative by reiterating positive thoughts. Your subconscious mind knows when you are being unrealistic and will not learn something unbelievable though. Also keeping them short and simple makes them easier to stick within your mind.
Start your day out using affirmations each day for 10 minutes or more and in no time your thoughts will be more positive and motivated!
Be positive, be present, and be kind!
